Georgia opens Iranian studies center

The Giorgi Tsereteli Institute of Oriental Studies in Tbilisi, Georgia, opens an Iranian studies center.

The Giorgi Tsereteli Institute of Oriental Studies in Tbilisi, Georgia, has opened an Iranian studies center.

Named after Georgian Iranologist Magali Todua, the opening ceremony of the center was held on Thursday.

A number of Iranian and Georgian scholars attended an opening ceremony.

The center is set to help scholars and students in Georgia to raise their knowledge about Iranian history and culture, the institute director Giorgi Sanikidze said.

The facility would help to increase cultural relations between the two nations, the Iranian Cultural Attaché in Georgia Mojtaba Kamranfard said.

The Georgian institute has set up the center in collaboration with the Institute of Oriental Studies.
